ZYRTEC Products

All of the products in the ZYRTEC® (cetirizine HCl) family are approved to treat both indoor and outdoor allergy symptoms.

ZYRTEC comes in:

  • ZYRTEC syrup—alcohol-free and banana-grape flavored
  • ZYRTEC Chewable Tablets—grape flavored
  • ZYRTEC tablets
  • ZYRTEC-D 12 HOUR® (cetirizine HCl 5 mg/pseudoephedrine HCl 120 mg) Extended Release Tablets

ZYRTEC tablets, syrup, and chewable tablets treat indoor and outdoor allergies and itching due to chronic hives. ZYRTEC-D 12 HOUR® Extended Release Tablets treat indoor and outdoor allergies and also relieve nasal congestion. Not all ZYRTEC products are right for all ages.

Your doctor will prescribe the dose and form that’s right for you. Just be sure to take your medicine exactly as prescribed.

Zyrtec Oral Overdose

If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. US residents can call the US national poison hotline at 1-800-222-1222. Canadian residents should call their local poison control center directly. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe drowsiness. In children, symptoms may include initial restlessness and irritability followed by drowsiness.

Zyrtec Oral Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.

Zyrtec Oral Storage

Store at room temperature between 68-77 degrees F (20-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted. Or store in the refrigerator between 36-46 degrees F (2-8 degrees C). Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
